About me & the colors studio

Hello, my name is François De Schryver, I am Belgian, I live in Brussels, and I have been a sound engineer for over 25 years. I started recording demos for the band I was playing guitar in. Back then, in the 90s, I had a 4-track recorder. Then I used one of the first 8-track workstations.

I then worked as an assistant at Caraïbe studio, which was equipped with an SSL 4000. In 2005, fresh out of SAE Brussels, I started “The Colors studio”, my own studio where I still work today.

Several years ago, I launched my online mixing site to allow musicians from all over the world to benefit from The Colors Studio and my experience. My musical tastes are quite eclectic: from rock to pop, jazz, trip hop, French new wave, bossa nova and electro… As a musician, I am also very attentive to arrangements and their implication in mixing. I believe that a good mix starts with a good arrangement. I work on Studio One, Live and Protools with my Soundcraft 500B analogue mixing desk (refurbished).

I offer several rates with different levels of complexity in mixing. I also have a YouTube channel called “The colours.Mix Lab” where I share mixing tips and tricks, plugin tutorials, and masterclass interviews.I look forward to working with you on mixing your songs. See you soon!
